About
“Barn” (directed by Dag Johan Haugerud) is a socially engaged cinema from Norway. The drama’s core is a fight on school’s sports field between
the 13-year-old Lykke and his friend Jamie, who falls on the ground unconscious. The school investigation reveals that there are several versions of events which led to the tragedy, and the tension builds up because the victim’s and the attacker’s parents are members of opposing political parties. What is more, the school headmistress is having an affair with… Jamie’s father. The film, previously known under the title “Beware of the Children”, had its premiere at the Festival in Venice (Venice Days section), it has also won awards at notable European festivals: in Goteborg and Thessaloniki.
