Breakfast & movie in The Old Cinema!

Before the first Lodz edition of PGNiG Transatlantyk Festival, the organizers invites to have a movie breakfast in the oldest cinema in Lodz. The screening of “Soul Kitchen” will take place on 12 March at 11 am. in the Cinema Residence in Lodz. The place is well known for being the first screening place in Poland and was re-opened lately after more than 100 years. 
The Illusion Cabinet was located on Piotrkowska 120 Street and was opened by Antoni and Władysław Krzeminski. It was the first place of regular movie screenings in Poland. The Tatry Cinema and PGNiG Transatlantyk Festival brought back the idea of the old cinema and recently people from Lodz can watch the movies again in this place. What is more, the movies are presented on traditional 35mm film reels.

On this edition of Transatlantyk Breakfast the “Soul Kitchen” directed by Fatih Akin will be presented. The movie was the winner of Special Jury Award in Venice. It tells the story of Zinos, the owner of the appaling restaurant, whose girlfriend breaks up with him. Because the man cannot handle managing the restaurant, his friends and coworkers do everything to help him.

The screening and the breakfast inspired by the movie take place 12 March at 11 am in The Old Cinema Residence (Piotrkowska 120). The tickets (15PLN movie and the breakfast included) are available in the box office from 5th March.

The viewers have a chance to choose any dish from the menu:
Specksalad Shayn’a - traditional german potato salad with sausage and precel with cheese obatzda paste. Sauerkraupuffer mit Lachs – pancakes from sauerkraut with smoked salmon and dill cream
Berliner Luft - raspberry cream with aphrodisiac.
