TRANSATLANTYK FILM MUSIC COMPETITION
COMPOSITION CONTEST - 1
The International Film and Music Festival TRANSATLANTYK is pleased to announce the TRANSATLANTYK Film Music Competition 2012.
We would like to inform you that composers who by December 31st, 2012 are not yet 35 years of age, can participate in the TRANSATLANTYK Film Music Competition. The participants’ task is to compose music for two short films. The material will be selected, so that the composers could present both their craft and original style. The works of the finalists will be judged by an international jury. Further information will appear soon on our website.
The TRANSATLANTYK Film Music Competition is not only an opportunity for the participants to square up to the most talented composers of their generation and to meet the finest representatives of various professions in the film industry, but also a chance to develop and make an international career. The great finale of the competition, with the participation of 10 finalists, will take place on August 20th in Poznan. The awards will be given during the Festival’s closing ceremony on August 21st, 2012. The winner of the competition will be conferred the title of the Transatlantyk Young Composer 2012 and will receive the Transatlantyk Young Composer Award – First Prize in the amount of 20 000 USD. The Jury will also grant the Transatlantyk Young Composer Award – Second Prize (10 000 USD) and Transatlantyk Young Composer Award – Third Prize (5 000 USD). The three winners will have the right to participate in the film music workshops of Rozbitek Institute in 2013. Rozbitek Institute is a place of educational activity in the field of film and music, as well as a place of development of new projects. Rozbitek supports artists of independent vision. The Institute is located in the village of Rozbitek in a 19th century park and chateau, 60 km west of Poznan.
